The KNOWLEDGE RESOURCE CENTER - WOMEN AND BUSINESS arises to respond to the efforts that ILO carries out in Latin America and the Caribbean, to promote gender equality and the women economic empowerment with support of business organizations and employers (EBMOs), Organizations of Women Entrepreneurs and Businesswomen, as well as businesswomen, rural, indigenous, from diverse sectors and professionals and managers of Region. The purpose is to strengthen contact networks between women to connect, create support spaces, projection, business and training, as well as strengthen their entrepreneurship capacities through the use of online networks that helped them so much to interconnect during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In this way, ILO puts all its resources and knowledge on Women and Companies developed by its different departments, among others, Activities with Employers (ACT-EMP), Companies and multinationals, Green Jobs, Gender and non-discrimination to guarantee full and effective participation of women in the work world and equal leadership opportunities at all decision-making levels in political, economic and public spheres.
This project is in line with SDG 5: Gender Equality; SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth; and SDG 17: Partnerships to achieve the goals, and the United Nations 2030 agenda.
